0006286: Telnet Process Crashes Kernel

I have a process running on a router (CentOS 6.3 stripped down) that telnets out to another server and reports stats every minute. The router has crashed a few times over the last month or 2, and the vmcore always says something like this:

KERNEL: /usr/lib/debug/lib/modules/2.6.32-279.19.1.el6.x86_64/vmlinux
DUMPFILE: /var/crash/127.0.0.1-2013-03-02-11:31:36/vmcore [PARTIAL DUMP]
CPUS: 4
DATE: Sat Mar 2 11:30:30 2013
UPTIME: 3 days, 17:31:39
LOAD AVERAGE: 0.02, 0.01, 0.00
TASKS: 140
NODENAME: lateapex-gw
RELEASE: 2.6.32-279.19.1.el6.x86_64
VERSION: 0000001 SMP Wed Dec 19 07:05:20 UTC 2012
MACHINE: x86_64 (1500 Mhz)
MEMORY: 2 GB
PANIC: "Oops: 0000 [0000001] SMP " (check log for details)
PID: 27004
COMMAND: "telnet"
TASK: ffff880037dc0040 [THREAD_INFO: ffff88007a10c000]
CPU: 3
STATE: TASK_RUNNING (PANIC)

Specifically it's always the command "telnet" that seems to do it. I can't tell if it's actually telnet doing it, or if telnet is tripping over something else.

I've cleaned the vmcores up, but if it happens again, I'll attach one to this report assuming it falls within your file size.
