0006420: Deselecting all package groups during install results in a system without yum

If you perform an install using text or VNC GUI and deselect all package groups and "Customise now" and deselect all package groups from there too, you end up with a 5.9 system that has no yum, no openssh-server, no wget and no other method that I could immediately find of retrieving other packages via the net.
