When logging into a Centos 6.x system with this nsswitch.conf entry:<br />

<br />
and NIS servers properly configured, the "id" command reports the user to be only in their primary group. Shell behavior is consistent. However, "id $LOGNAME" reports correct information, and the user can use newgrp or sg to switch to other groups.
