0006611: rpc.idmapd nss_getpwnam name UIDNUM errors in /var/log/messages

I am getting quite a few (about 1 per minute) errors in my NFS server's /var/log/messages file:

Aug 12 17:36:56 server rpc.idmapd[15701]: nss_getpwnam: name '9147' does not map into domain 'mydomain.com'

Why is there a (valid) UID number (and not a user name) specified as the arg??

Things seem to be working OK on the client. I see the correct username and group when ls'ing files. Clients are both Fedora 18 and CentOS 6.4. Server is CentOS 6.4. Issue seems to be related to Thunderbird activity (or perhaps gnome) in NFS mounted directories.

I have no idea if the logs are indicative of a more serious problem.
