similarly to (resolved) issue 6513, some firmwares for the bnx2x chipset is not included in the kernel (firmware) package. Upon installation of new kernel (3.4.53-8.el6.centos.alt.x86_64) for xen, network fails work for those cards requiring the missing (removed?) firmware.
