I had the same problem with RHEL Bug 725596. It was fixed with a patched kernel 2.6.32-220.2.1.el6.x86_64.

Whenever I try to umount a nfs mount point I get the error
umount.nfs: /ewsreports: device is busy

fstab
172.23.24.51:/vol/application01 /ewsreports nfs rw,bg,vers=3,tcp,rsize=32768,wsize=32768,hard,intr,timeo=600 0 0

kernel currently running on CentOS 6.2
2.6.32-220.4.1.el6.x86_64
