I have installed memtest86+ version 4.1 from the CentOS repository. This makes it a boot option in the Grub menu. When I select this option to boot from, the memtest86+ initial screen is displayed (i.e. a listing of the installed memory), but nothing else happens. It does not respond to any keypress.
I have tried this several times, and the result is the same each time.
I have downloaded memtest86+ version 4.2 from memtest.org and installed it on a bootable CD. This version and method of booting works fine.
I cannot believe you would distribute software that would fail in this way for everyone, so I presume there is something weird with my setup. I have no idea where to start digging to find out, however.
