The Libreoffice help states that you can record a macro by choosing Tools > Macros > Record Macro. However, this option is missing from the Tools > Macros menu (it is not even a greyed-out option). Therefore it is impossible to record a macro. <br />

The help states that this option is available in both Writer and Calc. In fact it is present in neither.
