0007442: Use of LUKS or Truecrypt encryption with SATA RDX drive results in processes hanging indefinitely.

When I attempt to use full drive encryption with a 1TB RDX cartridge in my Tandberg RDX Quikstor (internal SATA) drive, I eventually encounter a situation where the processes which are accessing the drive hang indefinitely. Removing and resetting the drive is ineffective, I am only able to recover with forced reboot (normal reboot will eventually hang as it tries to clean up the drive). Other processes are able to continue normally as long as they do not access the drive. It happens at various points in the process each time I've tried. Sometimes setting up LUKS will cause the freeze, sometimes formatting the LUKS volume or using the formatted volume with cause it, but it inevitably begins freezing processes in uninterruptable sleep. It doesn't appear to be a problem with the drive as it works fine when formatted without encryption.
