Centos 7 on the server with XDMCP enabled. Workstation running Centos 7 and attempting to start "Xnest :1 -query server" produces a black window and the server reports:

Oct 28 08:57:42 nx /usr/bin/dbus-launch: gnome-session-is-accelerated: No composite extension.
Oct 28 08:57:42 nx /usr/bin/dbus-launch: gnome-session-check-accelerated: Helper exited with code 256
Oct 28 08:57:42 nx /usr/bin/dbus-launch: ** (process:32693): WARNING **: software acceleration check failed: Child process exited with code 1

The same failure occurs with the workstation booting into X as an xdmcp client. All our workstations are now failing due to this.
I could not find a way to get kdm to run without gnome on the server. I appreciate that the underlying bug is in the upstream gnome software but the fact that kde on centos 7 has a dependency on it is something centos may be able to resolve.
