System refuses to reboot or shutdown when a IPv6 tunnel is created and is in use.

If the tunnel is not being used for active traffic, such as an irssi IRC connection, the system is able to reboot/halt with little difficulty.

See attachment: on reboot or halt, a message floods the screen and the system sits there. Ctrl-alt-del at the console has no effect.

unregister_netdevice: waiting for sit1 to become free. Usage count = 1

A temp workaround has been posted in " Additional Information ". Please note that while the system is not rebooting or halting, I have been able to execute:

/etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/init.ipv6-global stop post

and have it work fine.
