This is dual boot machine, both Windows (with correct time zone) and the bios showing the time was 1:00 pm, then boot up in the OS (CentOS 6.2). The time showing the time zone as New York and the time was 1:00pm. set the time zone (GMT +8), then the clock automatically added 8 hours.<br />

Then boot up in Windows again, the time was 8 hours behind (time zone didn't changed in Windows). Checked again at bios, the time was correct.
