0016425: destination IP in rich rule breaks rule parsing and launch of firewalld

Hello,<br /> i used to run a server under CentOS 7.6, with a working firewalld-configuration that also featured rich rules in the default "public"-zone.<br /> After having upgraded to 7.7 inplace, firewalld refuses to launch, with the following error message:<br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Sep 17 20:52:26 hostname systemd[1]: Started firewalld - dynamic firewall daemon.<br /> Sep 17 20:52:27 hostname firewalld[13065]: ERROR: argument of type 'Rich_Destination' is not iterable<br /> Sep 17 20:52:27 hostname firewalld[13065]: WARNING: True: COMMAND_FAILED: argument of type 'Rich_Destination' is not iterable<br /> Sep 17 20:52:27 hostname firewalld[13065]: ERROR: argument of type 'Rich_Destination' is not iterable<br /> Sep 17 20:52:27 hostname firewalld[13065]: ERROR: COMMAND_FAILED: argument of type 'Rich_Destination' is not iterable<br /> Sep 17 20:52:27 hostname firewalld[13065]: ERROR: '/usr/sbin/iptables-restore -w -n' failed: iptables-restore v1.4.21: goto 'FWDI_public' is not a chain<br /> <br /> Error occurred at line: 2<br /> Try `iptables-restore -h' or 'iptables-restore --help' for more information.<br /> <br /> <br /> After a lot of digging, i found that the issue can be "resolved" by removing any destination address from the rich rule:<br /> <br /> <br /> <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?><br /> <zone><br /> <short>Public</short><br /> <description>For use in public areas. You do not trust the other computers on networks to not harm your computer. Only selected incoming connections are accepted.</description><br /> <interface name="eno2"/><br /> <service name="ssh"/><br /> <rule family="ipv4"><br /> <source address="1.2.0.24/32"/><br /> <destination address="1.2.4.10/32"/><br /> <service name="ssh"/><br /> <log level="warning"/><br /> <accept/><br /> </rule><br /> <rule family="ipv4"><br /> <source address="1.2.0.0/16"/><br /> <destination address="1.2.4.10/24"/><br /> <service name="dns"/><br /> <accept/><br /> </rule><br /> <rule family="ipv4"><br /> <source address="1.2.0.0/16"/><br /> <destination address="1.2.4.10/32"/><br /> <service name="nfs"/><br /> <accept/><br /> </rule><br /> <rule family="ipv4"><br /> <source address="1.2.0.0/16"/><br /> <destination address="1.2.5.10/32"/><br /> <service name="nfs"/><br /> <accept/><br /> </rule><br /> </zone><br /> <br /> <br /> Assuming that the double quotes or the mask information may cause the issu and altering them did not fix the issue.<br /> Only removing the entire "destination" token helps to make firewalld oberable again.<br /> <br /> I face this issue on all my other servers in the exact same manner.<br /> This same unmodified file still worked perfectly on CentOS 7.6.

0016427: VM with centos 7.7 crash after boot

I have updated a centos 7 with krn 3.10.0-957 to krn 3.10.0-1062.1.1 on a KVM host.<br /> <br /> On the host I have a 2-socket/1-core/1-thread VM with centos 5.5 (krn 2.6.18-194) which works without<br /> any problem with old kernel 3.10.0-957 but with krn 3.10.0-1062 hang after boot (particularly<br /> the VM stop every I/O operation against network and disks). <br /> <br /> I tested a lot of VM parameter changes without any success. The only (not acceptable) workaround which<br /> allow the VM to remain up is to assign it 1-socket/1-core/1-thread.<br /> <br /> Stepping back to krn 3.10.0-957 (maintaining all other packages updated to centos 7.7-1908) solve the<br /> problem.<br /> <br /> Any help is appreciated. Thanks a lot

0016363: Add new gluster7 repositories to buildlogs.centos.org and mirrors

Hi!<br /> <br /> We're preparing for the Gluster 7 release and have the dependencies tagged (glusterfs-7 will come soon too) into storage7-gluster-7-testing (and storage7-..). Please sync this tag to <a href="https://buildlogs.centos.org/centos/7/storage/x86_64/gluster-7">https://buildlogs.centos.org/centos/7/storage/x86_64/gluster-7</a> (and the c6 + altarch locations).<br /> <br /> In order to prepare to the final release of glusterfs-7 (in a week or two), please add gluster-7 to the mirror sync already too. The actual glusterfs-7 package is not tagged with -release yet, but all dependencies are.<br /> <br /> A build for centos-release-gluster7 is available at <a href="https://cbs.centos.org/koji/taskinfo?taskID=932362">https://cbs.centos.org/koji/taskinfo?taskID=932362</a> and taskID=932392 which will be used for initial testing of the repository and packages.<br /> <br /> Thanks!

0015147: CentOS 6 AMI has ENA support enabled yet there's no driver?

I'm in the eu-west-1 AWS region and currently using ami-404f4339 which is "CentOS Linux 6 x86_64 HVM EBS ENA 1805_01"<br /> <br /> The CentOS 6 AMI appears to have the ENA support enabled:<br /> <br /> aws ec2 describe-images --image-id ami-404f4339 --query "Images[].EnaSupport"<br /> [<br /> true<br /> ]<br /> <br /> Yet if I try and boot this AMI as an r4.2xlarge then the instance boots up without any networking as it is inheriting the ENA support from the AMI. If I stop the instance, disable ENA on the instance ID and start it back up again then it has functioning networking.<br /> <br /> If I look in /boot/config-$(uname -r) then there's no mention of CONFIG_ENA_ETHERNET which is present in a CentOS 7 AMI config. I can't see that you're including the ENA driver in any way in the kernel and upstream RHEL doesn't support ENA on any 6.x version and only in 7.x from 7.4 onwards so I don't think the AMI should have this flag set as it's unusable on certain instance types.

0015393: Unshare of network namespaces slows down

Running unshare with CLONE_NEWNET does not cause issues when run only occasionally. However, running unshare with CLONE_NEWNET frequently causes subsequent calls to take very long, up to several seconds or even a minute.<br /> <br /> As far as I can tell this was fixed in more recent kernels, but I don't know which commit or version introduced the fix. This can be especially bad on systems with many cores, as there seems to be one lock held for freeing up the allocated namespaces/interfaces which blocks creation of subsequent namespaces.
