"Additional Information" contains the messages I copied from the reports. This is existing hardware which has been operating without apparent problems under Red Hat 9. I could use xcdroast under RH9 without problem. I'm using the same brand of CD media as I was on RH9, in fact I'm in the same 30-CD pack as I was on RH 9 and the last four CDs I burned under it were the CentOS 4.2 ones. I did try non-simulation mode (ruined 3 CDs before I realized something was consistently wrong). Logged in as root when the problem occurred. Thanks for your help.
