I followed "yum update" and Skype installation from Skype wiki page - http://wiki.centos.org/HowTos/Skype [^] - Then the system stopped working everything.

I did not notice if yum completed successfully, but the computer was turned off when I next see it. Then the problem happened:

The system does not allow to login.
No alt+ctrl+f1, ... f7 work.

The window system halts with the CentOS logo. It does not allow to work on.

Fortunately, it can be accessible via ssh.
I checked again with yum update. It says: no packages marked to update.

[root@_____]# yum update
Loaded plugins: fastestmirror, refresh-packagekit
Loading mirror speeds from cached hostfile
* base: ftp.iitm.ac.in
* extras: ftp.iitm.ac.in

The whole system works only in remote access. No terminals and no GUI.
It is an AMD 64 bit CPU with CentOS 6 installed.
